Since the founding of our country, the concept of “justice” has been at the center of cultural conversations. Whether in political discourse, social movements, or personal beliefs, everyone seems to have their own definition of what justice means to them. But what happens when these individual perspectives rarely align? What happens when we see different groups of people pushing for justice, yet they are often at odds with each other?

Today, more than ever, we are bombarded with headlines about the inequities that permeate our society—racial injustice, gender inequality, economic disparities, and more. And as the news cycles spin, we’re met with a never-ending parade of pundits and talking heads, each with their own interpretation of what is "just." This creates a world where justice is subjective, and for many, it remains elusive. In this climate, it feels like justice is often reserved for a select few while the rest of us struggle to find it.

So, how do we guarantee justice for everyone? The path to real justice isn't simple, but it begins with creating a shared understanding of the term itself and how it should be implemented. Justice isn't just about laws or policies—it's about ensuring fairness and equality in every corner of society, and it's something we all must actively work toward.

In this episode, I sit down with Libra Forde, Executive Director of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon, and a passionate advocate for social justice. Libra has spent her career fighting for equity in all spaces, and she brings a wealth of experience and insight into the conversation. Together, we explore the complicated moment we’re living in—the challenges, the divisions, and the opportunities for real change.

As Libra explains, it’s moments like this—moments of deep reflection, tension, and frustration—that can create the conditions for transformation. While achieving true justice for everyone is a monumental task, it’s possible when we begin to unite around a collective understanding of what justice means and how it should be applied to every community.

Join us for this thought-provoking discussion as we examine how we can move from a world of subjective justice to one where fairness, equality, and dignity are afforded to all. It’s a conversation you won’t want to miss.
